WHY IS MY JAW POPPING?

Jaw popping is one of the most common symptoms of TMJ – the name given to any number of disorders that can impact the alignment of the jaw. If you are experiencing jaw popping, it is a good idea to call Barrie dentist Dr. Adam Chapnick at (647) 504-4407 to schedule a neuromuscular evaluation and determine if this common discomfort is at the source.

In addition to popping in the jaw, symptoms of TMJ may include:

  • Grinding noises when opening and shutting the jaw
  • Chronic headaches
  • Pain in or around the jaw joint
  • Generalized facial pain
  • Neck, back, and shoulder aches

If you are experiencing these symptoms in addition to popping in the jaw, it is likely TMJ is the culprit. When TMJ is at the root of your jaw popping, Dr. Chapnick can provide a range of physiologic dentistry treatments designed to restore alignment and comfort, and help guard against a recurrence of the condition.

If you are experiencing jaw popping or any of the other symptoms of TMJ, please contact Chapnick Dental Office today to schedule a neuromuscular evaluation with Dr. Chapnick. Located in Barrie, we welcome patients from all surrounding areas of Ontario.
