WHAT TO DO IF YOU CHIP OR LOSE A PORCELAIN VENEER

Porcelain veneers are a long-lasting, but not a permanent solution for perfecting your smile. This means that, over time, your porcelain veneers may chip, break, or become lost. When this happens, you should contact our Barrie, Ontario office right away. Dr. Adam Chapnick can replace chipped or missing veneers, but will need to see you first to ensure your new veneer is customized to match adjacent teeth.

Steps to Take

If you chip a veneer, carefully remove the broken piece from your mouth and place it in a plastic bag. Bring this with you to your appointment with Dr. Chapnick. If you lose a porcelain veneer, simply contact our office for an appointment.

There should not be much discomfort caused by a chipped or missing veneer. However, the surface of your tooth may be rough and irritating to your gums or tongue. Your tooth may also be more sensitive to temperature fluctuations and sweet foods and beverages without the protection of a veneer. Dr. Chapnick can fit you with a temporary veneer while your replacement is being made to help guard against any discomfort a missing veneer can cause.

If you live in or around Barrie, Ontario and have chipped or lost a porcelain veneer, please contact Chapnick Dental Office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Chapnick today.
